Urdu is the national language of Pakistan and therefore, spoken, read, and understood by majority of Pakistanis living at home or abroad. Moreover, this language is also spoken and understood by millions of Indians, serving as a language of peace and a primary language for cross cultural exchange within the subcontinent.
Despite sharing an Indo-Aryan base with Hindi, evolution of Urdu is aligned with various invasions of the subcontinent, starting from the Muslim conquest of Sindh in 711. The language is influenced by some of the richest languages such as Persian (Farsi), Arabic, Punjabi and Haryanvi.
